Football Insider report that the experienced ‘keeper is a target for Spanish giants Real.
It’s claimed that Real Madrid have added the ex-Ajax goalkeeper to their shortlist as Keylor Navas has been linked with a switch to Paris Saint-Germain.
The La Liga outfit have reportedly been in touch with the Dutchman’s representatives with the view to a possible switch before the transfer window shuts on September 2.
Stekelenburg, who has also had spells with Southampton, Monaco and AS Roma, would play back-up to former Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois if he were to move to Real.
